That means they are fully digital. This removes the possibility of any problems due to any fluctuations or the surroundings.

Its role in Security is for sending mail or for information processing. Many companies (SMEs and larger) are already using IP addresses, in their offices. To make installation and signalling simpler, this system transmits alarm data signals . As IP systems are more efficient and are cheaper, companies are moving towards this system. Moreover with the IP system available, one doesn’t need to wait for the analogue lines to get installed.

Its reliability in security– the past concern about the network reliability is completely gone with the introduction of these IP lines. However, there are few things that one must be careful of, while using these IP lines. While choosing an ISP, frequency and amount of downtime should be considered. Downtime in frequency can be reduced by knowing your use of these lines for alarm signalling.

How reliable is this for security purposes– the major concern about alarm data signalling is of data interception. IP alarm signalling provides solution to it by 2 ways-

IP alarm signalling never uses the web itself; instead it uses the infrastructure in place for only browsing the web. No viruses or worms or any other problem which is associated with web can enter into your system via IP alarm signalling. You should always ensure that the network security is in place.

IP receivers and transmitters send encrypted data. Hence, if the data gets intercepted, it will not get forwarded and be deciphered further.
