Home Alarms and Security Systems Guide

DYI Home Alarm Systems

The average home owner will opt for a basic home alarms system comprising of motion detectors , door sensors and window sensors . Usually the motion detectors can be deactivated while there is someone at home, however the door sensors and window sensors can remain active.

The difference between the different components and how they function, is a s follows: The window sensors will sound the alarm system when a burglar breaks the glass while entering through a window. The door sensors will operate based pretty much on the same principal. The alarm will sound if the door contacts are separated if an intruder tries a forced entry through the door. The motion detectors will only activate once an intruder has already entered the home through an entry point that was not covered by a window or door sensor.

The home alarms system that best suits your needs depends on a few criteria. What is the size of the area that you want to protect? How many different entry points are there that a burglar can exploit? What is your budget? What level of security are you looking for to bring you peace of mind ?Obviously there alot of choices available when it comes to purchasing a home security system.
