Many batteries which are connected with a plastic coated shrink wrap and the whole system is known as ‘battery pack’. However, before browsing the internet, there are some things you need to know about the batteries used for a digital camera. Buying the wrong kind of batteries and using them may destroy your camera.

If you decide to go for the option of a battery pack for your digital camera, you should buy a battery back connector. You should make sure that the connector is purchased from a company of repute. One of the major benefits of running a battery operated system is the low cost incurred due to not spending money on running a cable to the camera.

Using batteries has its disadvantages and advantages, so long as home security systems are concerned. The major advantage is that you will be able to install the camera in a very strategic location and the major disadvantage is changing the battery as it runs out, periodically.
